In line with the launch, our curator Phin Jennings discusses how we as art world participants can look to our personal actions to hitch a wider dialog about local weather change. Nicholas Cullinan, director of the National Portrait Gallery, has gained the Critics’ Circle Visual Arts Award for 2023 for providers to the visible arts in recognition of the £41.3m resetting of the gallery, which re-opened in June. Blockbuster exhibitions returned, and the world’s top art festivals, together with the Venice Biennale and Documenta, did as well.
